Take the next S.T.E.P in your education

Unlock your potential.

We provide activities, resources and apprenticeship schemes to the ethnic minority communities to help empower and take their next steps in to the working world.

STEP was founded in February 2022, it is a skills development initiative that target ethnic minority communities. It is aimed at raising awareness and recognising the lack of engagement by ethnic minority communities on apprentice schemes and provides activities and resources to unlock their career opportunities through apprenticeship, skills, and training work-based programmes. The programme hopes to empower, engage and help ethnic minorities with relevant skills to enter the working world.

Mission Statement

Empower youth and adult learners to develop practical skills to empower themselves in order to achieve sustainability and independence. STEP acknowledges cultural differences and bridges the divide, reducing the skills gap and promoting social interactions through the provision of skills, training and apprenticeships programs.

Vision

Promote a culture of respect, well-being, career enhancement, responsibility and sustainability. We aim to provide flexible and adaptable pathways in work-based (apprenticeships) and hands-on training.

Apprenticeships Programs

Promoting the Apprenticeship Degree path:

We provide opportunities for those who want to gain formal qualifications in their chosen field. STEP highlights the apprenticeship degree option as this is a lesser-known career path in ethnic minority communities.

STEP is here to bridge that gap and highlights ways to become certified without going through the traditional university route. We have links with the University of Essex, specifically regarding their Apprenticeship Nursing Degree. We source other degree programs as the interest arises and facilitate and signpost interested parties to other programs as they develop).
